Knitting and crochet!

So knitting and crochet have been consuming my evenings of late!! I started this scarf on Sunday afternoon with no intention of finishing it, it was indeed finished within two hours and these few pics just don't do it justice!! I was really inspired by a scarf that one of my students had made a while ago, Becca Jones, and I had a load of odd wool to Knit up, so I just went a bit crazy!

I shall post some images of the finished scarf along with some other pieces I have made over the weekend.

This is some detail of a really long hooded circle scarf I made on Saturday evening. I love scarfs and I love to snuggle up in them, making a snuggly scarf that I could wrap up warm in was ideal for this weather, especially when i have chickens to feed at 6.30 each morning, keeps me nice and snug!!

Ceramics at the V&A

Well, I have been in London for the past two days with the students at Hereford College of Art, we all went to take in the exhibitions and of course see the Christmas lights!

We all started off in the V&A and surprisingly, I was bowled over by the beautiful colours and patterns that appeared on some of the ceramics. I took some pictures to remind me of them and also for some inspiration for some of my jewellery.

Some workshop time

I have had a busy day, I have seen loads of second year blacksmiths for tutorials and by the end of the day, I was looking forward to spending time in my own workshop.

Just working with some of my drawings, keeping things really small! I have a real thing for oxidised silver, so I have made two pairs to see how different they may look. They are not finished yet, these will be burnished just to add some detail.

Glad to be back indoors though, Worksop is pretty nippy, the fire is helping me warm back up!
