Friday saw the posting of my last commission of the week, and boy was it good to receive a lovely text on Saturday morning to say how much they liked it. This necklace was great to make, I always enjoy selecting the best bit of the cast for the job.
Whilst trying to get a bit of fresh air I picked some peas, broad beans and French beans. I have really enjoyed the veg patch this year, my morning routine of watering the green house has really paid off, tomatoes are ripe every day, there are peppers, chillies and fennel. Evan a few au regimes are coming along nicely!
I must admit, not all of the peas managed to find their way into the freezer or our plate, I find picking less is a bit like picking strawberries, one for me, one for the tub!
Even though lots of things haven't worked so well due to the bee shortage around here, we still have figs, lots of blackberries and mushrooms! I won't be eating any mushrooms though, my dad has scared me whittles about it! They are very interesting to look at. These were where one of our log piles were. They sprung up almost over night.
Amongst all the edible stuff there has been a great deal of colour in and around the garden. New roses are still popping up and after cutting almost a dozen hydrangea heads this year, theres still more! I love the colourise on these.
And after a long long week, or two or even three, I decided I needed to pick up my needles yesterday, to settle into a rhythm, to keep me settled. I decided on a really cosy circle scarf. I washed my other teal one and it did not end well. This will be a replacement. Plus I can't handle thinking about too much at the moment.
I have also been tinkering around with different way to use my blankets. It makes a really gorgeous scarf, so I'm going to wear it this week as its really nippy round here! I have definitely found my style.
I'm trying to embrace the fact that I'm not feeling great, but it's not easy, lost feels like a waste of a weekend, do you know what I mean?
So who else has already started making scarfs and fingerless gloves? that's what's next on my list!
And back to knitting and a bit of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory!
