This pattern looked really complicated when I first saw it, but is surprisingly easy and quite quick. Sarah London ( link will appear on the right hand side of this blog) also had a fab example of this pattern called Apache Tears. Once i had worked out the pattern by sight ( not very good at pattern reading, mostly as I find them a little too much info for my mind to work out) i whipped up a few samples to see what it was like.
I was excited at how dense the fabric is and surprisingly the back resembles a knitted stitch, so I'm also going to whip up some samples by just crocheting into the back of the stitch.
These samples show the pattern with 2 double crochet spacing (above) and 4 dc spacing.
I also tried broomstick lace ( google it ), again it looks very complex but is very easy to do, just involved a double crochet and a big fat needle!
The samples above are worked up in an acrylic yarn and the broomstick lace is worked in cotton .
The garden is going through its cycle of blooms, and some of the wild flower poppy seeds that J planted have sprung up over the weekend. Jeans roses look beautiful and there are loads of gorgeous flowers lining the drive.
Iv also been eating the strawberries that have also arrived after my few days away, delicious!!
Hope you had a fab weekend x
